New Multi-Beneficiary Mode for Online Payments
As of 18 February 2026, companies required to pay fees to the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) under the Ministerial Decree of 6 December 2016 may use the new PagoPA Multi-Beneficiary online payment mode.
This mode allows companies to make one single payment, which is automatically split between AIFA and the Ministry of Health. As a result, the payment process is simplified, as it requires only one banking transaction and only one transaction fee.
When using the “Generate Payment Notice” function within AIFA’s online payment system, the system will generate one PagoPA payment notice entitled BdP_Aifa_Mds_nro_anno_pol.pdf, which includes both the payment payable to AIFA and the payment payable to the Ministry of Health.
For companies using the “Pay Online” function, the payment procedures will remain unchanged.
Please note that the Multi-Beneficiary mode applies only to new POL applications created from 18 February 2026 onwards within AIFA’s online payment system.
