AIFA-OECD conference at Luiss on new pharmaceutical development models and preparedness

The conference “Pharmaceutical development, therapeutic access, and strategic preparedness: new paths for Public Health”, organized by AIFA and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be held on Friday 25 November, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Luiss University of Rome (viale Romania, 32 – Rome).

The meeting will be an opportunity for a voluntary exchange between political decision-makers, stakeholders, Italian and international experts on the challenges associated with pharmaceutical development and the management of health emergencies from a public health perspective.

Institutional, academic and drug supply chain experts will examine the essential features of pharmaceutical systems and policies, starting from the Italian system, with a view to also improve preparedness for future pandemics, after COVID-19, or for unforeseen health crises.

Discussion will include new forms of strategic autonomy in the pharmaceutical sector relating to R&D, medicine supply, market regulation, One Health approach applied to public health policies.
AIFA’s Director General Nicola Magrini will participate in the conference, together with representatives from AIFA, Ministries, pharmaceutical departments of central and regional public administrations, academia and stakeholders of the pharmaceutical/biotechnological sector.
