MFA for AIFA Online Services: operational guidance and support
As of 19 October 2026, access to AIFA Online Services using AIFA credentials requires multi-factor authentication (MFA). AIFA is taking action to address the issues reported by users from pharmaceutical companies and National Health Service organisations, as well as by the industry associations Farmindustria and Egualia.
For pharmaceutical companies, further work is under way to facilitate the management and review of all AIFA applications by users belonging to the same organisation.
The following clarifications apply.
As of 26 October 2026, users of the Marketing Authorisation Variations Portal will be able to access all applications submitted by their pharmaceutical company, rather than only those they submitted themselves.
Authorised users of the Conferences and Congresses Portal can already review all applications submitted by their company.
For the Medical and Scientific Information Portal (IMS), AIFA is considering introducing a user profile that would allow users to review and manage all applications relating to the same company (SIS). No implementation timeframe is currently available.
For the Online Payments Portal (POL), a super-user profile is already available, providing access to all applications submitted by the user’s organisation.
Please note that the Monitoring Registries System includes a patient-sharing functionality within the “Registry Approval Management” function. This functionality can be enabled or disabled for individual physicians by Healthcare Directors (Local Health Authorities/Hospital Authorities and Healthcare Facilities) and Regional Representatives.
It allows authorised physicians within the same organisational unit (Facility/Department/Section) to view and manage registered treatments, thus ensuring continuity of healthcare and administrative activities within healthcare facilities.
If you experience any difficulties or technical issues, you can submit a request through the Rexpondo Help Desk: Access the Rexpondo Help Desk.
If you cannot access Rexpondo as an AIFA user, select the citizen access option.
AIFA will continue to monitor the new system to ensure security and ease of access to its Online Services.
