AIFA reiterates the ban on the use of AstraZeneca’s ABV2856 batch only
The Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) has been informed that a fake version of press release No. 632, published on 11 March 2021, is circulating on social media, indicating false batch numbers of COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine. For this reason, AIFA reiterates that the only batch of AstraZeneca’s vaccine subject to a ban on use in Italy is ABV2856.
AIFA wishes to remind that any action aimed at spreading fake news that is dangerous for the general public will be tackled by any means.
AIFA reserves the right to take any appropriate legal action against such unlawful disclosure.
