IncreaseNET project. AIFA launches market investigation aimed at identifying Universities and Research Institutes for the provision of training courses on pharmaceutical innovation
Keeping up with pharmaceutical innovation in order to be able to better assess, promote and direct it is one of the main challenges for medicine regulatory agencies today.
A challenge that requires increasingly specialised skills, continuous training and the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
This is the background to the market investigation launched by AIFA as part of the European IncreaseNET project. The survey aims to identify university institutions and research institutes, public or private, to be entrusted with training courses for the benefit of regulatory agency experts in the field of two innovative and challenging topics in the pharmaceutical field.
The first concerns Organ-on-Chips, miniaturised biotechnology devices that simulate the behaviour and physiology of human organs and can be used to test the safety and efficacy of medicines, reduce the use of animal models and personalise treatments.
The second concerns RNA-based Therapeutics, a class of medicines that use RNA molecules to modulate gene expression or correct dysfunctions at the molecular level.
The IncreaseNET project – funded under the Joint Action of the EU4Health Programme 2021-2027 – involves 29 partners, mainly national medicine authorities and aims to strengthen their capacities and competences in the field of medicine evaluation activities.
AIFA is coordinating some specific objectives of the project, including the one concerning the upgrading of technical and scientific skills of regulatory authorities through training courses delivered by academia and research institutions focusing on innovative topics.
