Sicurezza dei farmaci

L'AIFA vigila sull’uso sicuro dei medicinali per assicurare che il rapporto beneficio rischio di ogni farmaco sia favorevole. Tale attività è effettuata attraverso il monitoraggio e la valutazione dei dati di sicurezza e, nel caso in cui sia necessario, tramite l'adozione di azioni regolatorie in modo da tutelare prontamente la salute pubblica.

L'AIFA garantisce anche un’informazione indipendente e tempestiva sulla sicurezza dei medicinali incoraggiando i pazienti e gli operatori sanitari a segnalare le sospette reazioni avverse.

Inoltre, promuove programmi e studi di farmacovigilanza attiva, d’intesa con le Regioni e secondo piani di formazione e ricerca con i medici di medicina generale, i pediatri di libera scelta, le società scientifiche e le strutture universitarie.
